I believe that this evaluation is the best representation of my work ethic throughout the past two trimesters at the Macomb County Treasurer's Office. My positive attitude and constant drive to accomplish any task that is given to me is accurately represented in the 5/5 ratings for most of the categories. However, one of the only 4/5 ratings I have received is pertaining to attendance. I agree with this fully due to the clash in my senior year schedule and my co-op in recent weeks. I know that going forward, when taking a job or internship like this, attendance to this responsibility must be my first priority. I am thankful for everything that the Treasurer's office has given me along with the doors that have been opened because of it.

I made an "Above and Beyond" for Cathy. This is due to the fact that she always accomplishes every task with an immense amount of energy and passion. I believe she deserves this award due to her passion of being a mother as well. Her daughter attends Masonic Heights and her love shows for her every time she speaks about her. Cathy even takes on extra projects at work, which proves her ability to multi-task. She is overall a great person, that does everything she can to make the workplace and her life as wonderful as possible.
This week was co-worker appreciation. I've grown close to one of the secretary's in the office, Carol. She always attempts to make everyone's day as stress free as possible. We often talk about our cravings and I've learned she loves dark chocolate so I bought her my favorite dark chocolate. Additionally, I bought her some nail polish because her nails are always done to a T! I wrote her a heartfelt message about how I am thankful for her and she loved it. :)
This past week has been super super busy at the office. The show cause hearing was this past week. The show cause hearing is the last chance for people who haven't paid their 2014 taxes to avoid foreclosure in the long run and set up a payment plan. To set up a payment plan and avoid foreclosure, the candidate must take a MSU money management program. Many people try to debate this, but it is mandatory to even have your payment plan considered by the treasurer. There is a whole process of getting people into this payment plan and around 200 people were helped this week alone. This is how the treasurer saves so many people from losing their homes. Only 300 of the 10,000 homes that were on the track for foreclosure were actually taken last year, which is a great statistic.
Over break, I worked extra hours to get extra money for the holidays. Jonathan and I did lots of return mail along with receipts. A lot of people are attempting to get payment plans due to the fact that it is the new year and they only have until March 31st until their house is foreclosed on. Additionally, I took down the Christmas tree and sorted through a bunch of end of the year paperwork. We had a Christmas lunch which was a good way to take a break during the day. The new boss started at the beginning of the year, so every envelope must go out with labels of Mr. Roccas name on it. Since I am the intern, I have to put one of every envelope so everyone in the office has envelopes ready for them to use. The office is going through a lot of changes and there is a lot of stuff going on right now.
This past week, my department was changed. I was moved from the main office to personal property. Personal property is where property from businesses, such as machines and objects, are taxed and paid on yearly. These taxes are much more difficult to collect due to the fact that personal property cannot be easily traced. A home is where someone resides, it cannot get up and run away, where as personal property can be moved, hidden, and destroyed without a trace. This makes it incredibly difficult for us to close cases, overall being an ongoing case for years and years. Nothing very eventful went on within the past week, except for imputting simple return mail into the system. John and I also had to clean our desk, because it began to get messy after two of us were wroking in one space for so long. We put up the christmas tree a few weeks ago and I feel like it cheers up the office a little bit. (I had a picture of it, but I lost everything on my phone this past week and I didnt back it up... Im sorry :-( )
